Handmade mirror studio
Aayena
Aayena makes handmade, customisable mirrors. Because no two pieces are the same, the website had to do something a normal shop can't: let people design the product themselves.
- What we did
- Design, engineering and launch
- Status
- Live
The brief
Show shoppers exactly what they're ordering before they commit, keep the brand's soft, personal feel, and get every order to the founder in a form she can act on straight away, without a payment gateway or back office to maintain.
What we built
Build your own mirror
Shoppers pick a shape, a trim and a colourway, and add a message. The preview redraws instantly with each choice, so there are no surprises when the mirror arrives.
Which Aayena are you?
A few quick questions lead to a recommended mirror, which gives undecided visitors a starting point instead of a blank canvas.
Instagram-led shop
The shop pages follow the brand's Instagram, where most customers discover Aayena, so the two feel like one place.
Checkout on WhatsApp
The bag turns into a pre-filled WhatsApp message with every detail of the design, so the founder can confirm the details in a conversation she's already having.
Under the hood
- A static site with no server to patch or pay for
- The designer runs entirely in the browser, so it's quick on phones
- Static hosting with nothing to patch or maintain
Where it is now: Live, with new mirrors added as they launch.
